AIMS delivers a single, coordinated service covering the full medical journey while ensuring adherence to policy terms and insurer requirements.
When a medical incident is reported, AIMS takes over administrative coordination and guides the patient through the process from first contact.
Once medical authorisation is obtained, AIMS may issue a guarantee of payment to the treating facility. A clinical management plan is then proposed. Where treatment is outside South Africa, AIMS assesses the suitability of local care and determines whether transfer to South Africa or another appropriate facility is required, either by air ambulance or commercial flight.
If evacuation is required, AIMS provides ongoing case management, daily hospital visits where applicable, and direct communication with treating doctors. Updates are shared with authorised parties, including cost estimates, prognosis, treatment plans, and expected hospital duration.
Where treatment is provided locally, AIMS continues daily monitoring and engagement with the patient, family members, and employers, in line with patient privacy and data protection requirements.
